Thanks for all the hints and suggestions.I have still not got the printing to work, but the scanner successfully sends the scans to my FTP server (https://sourceforge.net/projects/wfde/). That's kind of cool :) The scan quality is fine. I actually like this device. I'll see if I get it to print later this week. Tomorrow my dog is having an operation, and I have some code to deliver.
