Beceem BCSM250 WiMAX Adapter
I'm trying to get this WiMAX adapter working - does anyone have it working, or know how to do so? I've searched high and low on the web, and found all kinds of half-baked / incomplete / outdated stuff, plus some useful information, which led me to the steps I've taken, described below.
The unit is a FreedomPop 4G / Sierra Wireless USB dongle. From lsusb:
Bus 002 Device 020: ID 198f:0220 Beceem Communications Inc. BCSM250 WiMAX Adapter
Bus 002 Device 019: ID 1199:0301 Sierra Wireless, Inc.
[I've seen online that this thing may have multiple chipsets: 3G, 4G,
even GPS.]
The bcm_wimax driver (mainline kernel - staging) picks it up:

The firmware I'm using is from a Ubuntu package (I couldn't find any in Debian):
http://packages.ubuntu.com/vivid/linux-firmware-nonfree
As the logs show, the driver exposes an ethX interface, but I can't
figure out what to do with it. Any ideas?
