It would be nice if there were some indication of this in the package description; when I looked at it after it was brought up in this thread, I rejected the idea of installing it (if I should ever be in a situation like the one described) out of hand, specifically because I don't want any graphical-boot behaviors. Plus I *do* want "the text messages that normally get shown" to appear during boot.
