OK. Fix that and the offered solutions will work.

I can't reproduce your results (which appear to be legacy issues).

All three solutions (are correct in "effect"):-
;work for me on Wheezy
;will survive updates and upgrades (you'll get the option to keep those
settings).

AFAIK the solution offered by Andrei is the "correct *Debian* way".
