what's gnome-shell doing?

Hello list,

I found strange things like this accidentally, for many times, when
typed 'ss -apt'
```
ESTAB       0      0
10.170.32.43:60752                                  128.199.164.95:http
users:(("gnome-shell",pid=1787,fd=19))
```
my gnome-shell Version: 3.12.2-3

whois said the ip is "Digital Ocean",
but, I have never touched it.

how can gnome-shell access the network by itself,
what's worse, I don't know what is it doing.

Anybody encountered this case?
