I've been making and (deliberately) breaking 4 or 5 different Debian
based distros the last few months. Just yesterday successfully
reinstalled one on an EXTERNAL hard drive for the first time. On the
first boot up of that new install, I noticed grub had picked up and
was offering one partition... on the INTERNAL hard drive..
Am definitely intrigued by that and intend to keep an eye out for how
it happened. For someone else it might be seen as a "not so much"
because it does fill up that one selection screen, makes it
"busy"/very full (potentially overwhelming for new users).. For me it
was interesting that it was even a possibility but I guess the
"no-brainer" part of it is that it was just Debian looking at the
entirety of my setup at the moment of that particular install. :)
