I have tested "mem=" option with 2 Linux Install CD
one CD is for 64 bit Linux
the other CD is Mandrake 9.2,
both don't help
64 bit?
Could you post the "exact" text error messages displayed when it fails,
the wording is important.

If I remember correctly, this is an old machine with either 512K or 1GB of ram. I think it's unlikely that it would run a 64-bit system. Does it have a 64-bit CPU? (I know that the mobo model number was mentioned here, but I've lost that email.)
