The best advice I would give if you have Network-manager installed is to edit:
/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
[main]
plugins=ifupdown,keyfile
[ifupdown]
managed=false
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(change managed=true to false)
and do yourself a favor
