The answer to this appears to be a large part of the problem.
Vardhan, if you get the memory you are going to have to open the laptop up to
install it. So, since you are going to have to do it anyway to install
anything, why not pluck up courage and open it up now, and count how many
memory slots there are?
yes, at last i did open the box and found 1 ram installed in bottom.
the slots are exactly same as shown in the youtube video :

i have contacted toshiba & i am stumped by their reply :

3. The RAM can be extended up to 8 GB in your laptop. Hence, you
need to contact to the service center regarding the same.

4. The Ram details :- 204-Pin DDR3 SODIMM PC3-10600 (1333Mhz) with 1.5v

thank u,

This thread has been going for so long I forget what went before.
Do you have a user and/or service manual for this computer?
If not, have you looked on the internet to see if you can download one?
What does the manual say? If it says less than 8GB (as the service
center has indicated you can have) then probably you need to flash
the BIOS--for which you would need the new BIOS software from the
service center, and is why you would have to contact them.

If you get code to flash the BIOS, make SURE that you run a
CRC check on the download--if there is an error and you burn it,
you might make your computer unusable. The hash codes must
match exactly, or the file is corrupt.

If you are in an area where your AC power is not reliable, DO NOT
try to flash the BIOS, because if the power should fail during the
procedure, it will almost surely make the machine unusable.
