But I would plug the PCI card in but without any drives in the SATA port. Then boot. This should boot because without any drives it should scan past it and boot from the main sata ports. Assuming that works then you can get to the card id information. Record the lspci -v output for that card. With that information it should be possible to search the web for more information. And also post that information here and maybe there will be help here. $ lspci -v But that will produce a lot of output and only the section about the SiliconImage PCI card is desired. Brainstorm ideas would be to install the latest experimental 3.7-trunk kernel. Bob
