I understand that you knew nothing about this VGA chipset and I was
simply showing a fact by telling you about this chipset 3D capabilities
that are not that great.

Again, there's no need to SHOUT.
As you should know, GNOME 3 does not require a 3D capable VGA but "gnome-
shell". You can still use GNOME 3 with the classic desktop; that you
don't want it is a different issue. That said I wouldn't rely that gnome-
shell can any good with a VGA chipset which is that old.

And that's a valid concern 90% of the time or when the available packages
on Debian repositories do fit to our purpose. Otherwise (which seems to
be the acse) you have to go out or live without a specific configuration
you need but can't get.
