Have you seen:-

Or added the Debian Eee repository:-
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/Repository

I've installed Debian on a number of Asus Eee PCs and the generic
keyboard has worked fine.
Perhaps if the work that went into the wiki and the repository (listed
above) doesn't help you could supply the model number and other
pertinent details (eg. language selected).
