nvidia driver strangeness

Has anyone seen any odd behavior out of the nvidia drivers of late? I upgraded my sid workstation tonight, and got the following updates:

glx-alternative-nvidia    0.1.94
libgl1-nvidia-alternatives    280.13.really.275.28-1
libgl1-nvidia-glx    280.13.really.275.28-1
libglx-nvidia-alternatives    280.13.really.275.28-1
nvidia-alternative    280.13.really.275.28-1
nvidia-common    20110426+1
nvidia-glx    280.13.really.275.28-1
nvidia-installer-cleanup    20110729+2
nvidia-kernel-common    20110729+2
nvidia-kernel-dkms    280.13.really.275.28-1
nvidia-settings    280.13-1
nvidia-support    20110729+2
nvidia-vdpau-driver    280.13.really.275.28-1
xserver-xorg-video-nvidia    280.13.really.275.28-1

In addition, I'm running kernel 3.0.0-1 (3.0.0+39). So here is my problem. Areas of various windows that are supposed to be opaque are now transparent. This includes various buttons on gmail (the send/save now/discard and compose mail/search mail and search the web buttons)...It also happened on my emerald theme, where pieces of the windowborders that were opaque are now transparent, in some themes, the entire title bar.

Another issue is that it broke wine. What was working fine before the update is now giving me

wine: Unhandled page fault on execute access to 0x004be98c at address 0x4be98c (thread 0009), starting debugger...

I guess my questions are 1) Has anyone encountered this? and 2) should I roll back to the nvidia drivers 280.13-5 or even -4?

Thanks,
