I've tried with "~/.Xdefaults" but it doesn't work either.

I mean, this works:

xterm -fa "Courier New" -fs 14

But this doesn't:

sm01@stt008:~$ cat .Xdefaults
XTerm*faceName: Courier New
XTerm*faceSize: 14
