I don't think the chroot will work, but VMware will run a 64-bit guest on a 32-bit host if your CPU has VT support.

I'm not sure if there is a way to tell from the CPU flags in cpuinfo.  If you can reboot the machine, the VT option should be somewhere in the BIOS if it is supported.
