pdflatex has problem with searching files

I installed texlive and when try to process simple document
I got error that pdflated can not find some files:

! LaTeX Error: File `book.cls' not found.
! LaTeX Error: File `bk12.clo' not found.

If I type in the path to those files when it ask than pdf latex can complete
the work. But why it can not find it by itself?
