hi joerg and list, i forgot to mention that the command

*sudo /opt/schily/bin/cdrecord  dev=ATAPI:0,1,0 -v -pad -dao -data 
/home/steef/canon.iso*

worked as perfect as the command without *dev=ATAPI:0,1,0* with the same 
version of joerg's cdrtools.
