As others on this list already mentioned you need to install "unrar" to unpack .rar files. To save you some time in the future i would like to introduce you to a little tool names "unp" which is able to unpack virtually everything an therefore saves you the hassle to remember any arcane command line options :-) Just give it a shot with: --- snip --- # aptitude install unp [ ... ] # unp packedFileInAnyFormat --- snip --- so long Wolodja
