trying to login in locally as root using pam_ldap while network down.
Hello,
Im having troubles when trying to login in locally as root using
pam_ldap while network down.
There are several posts about this problem, but none of the
solutions worked for me.
On my tests I've found that if the system has, at least, access to
the dns server, then local login would be much faster.
I've also found that if i delete the nameserver on /etc/resolv.conf
(causing the name resolution to fail imediactly) then local login
would be equaly faster.
This makes me think that the delay is caused by the name resolution and
not the pam_ldap itself.
Reducing the bind_timelimit would make no diference.
Is there any way to reduce the name resolution timeout?
Thanks
