Then there is something amiss with your machine. I know, I know, that's
what you hear elsewhere but seriously, there is a problem in the machine.

To copy and paste that took no time at all. It was perfectly interactive.
And that's on a 7-8 year old Dell Latitude CPx with 256Mb of RAM and a 667Mhz
CPU running things people on this list think it aught not run. Like, KDE.
Running at the time: Thunderbird, Firefox, Konsole with 2 tabs.
Only differences than my far inferior hardware is the later kernel I am
running (2.6.20 vs. 2.6.10) and my laptop runs KUbuntu, not Debian or as in
your case, Fedora.
