Debian Etch xine/totem problem

When i try to start xine or totem from the desktop applet it do not start and when i try to start xine from terminal my error message is :

This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.5cvs.

can't create mcop directory


Well it's funny because :

maurice@maison:~$ whereis mcop

mcop: /usr/lib/mcop

I have installed Etch following the steps described here : http://lunapark6.com/debian-40-etch.html
