Realplayer is called, but nothing happens. Video at the BBC also will not play,

Try this work-around - choose the option to launch it in a stand-alone app, via
the link on the BBC pop-up page underneath the non-functioning realplayer
plug-in. It plays fine, for me at least, when realplayer launches in stand-alone.
