Another reason, I wager, is the centralized development model that
the BSDs prefer.

However, much virtual ink has been spilt over the reasons why Linux
& *BSD are where they are, and I really don't think we can add more.

Is "common sense" really valid?
For example, it is "common sense" to white-power racists that
whites are superior to blacks, and that those with brown skins
are mud people.
However, that "common sense" is obviously wrong.
