How about other applications (less, emacs, etc.)?

How about other terminals (e.g. xterm)?

Depending on the terminal, terminfo ($TERM), and the configuration
of the terminal, there are several possible escape sequences for
the Home and End keys.

BTW, Emacs has a problem with the End key with xterm-vt220:
