every restart kde - need to reconfigure alsa sound with kmix , alsamixergui, tkmixer etc

Funny,

Every time I restart startx - to start kde, there is no sound.

First I thought that alsa modules were lost. I checked and they were loaded. 
It is just that all the settings are set to 0!

I checked and each time I reboot all the settings  as reported by kmix or 
tkmixer or alsamixergui all have zero level for all sound parameters. I have 
to manually move "Master" sound level  to the top value and then I get sound.

Ok. I googled and it is reported in the redhat world as a kde bug. any debian 
documentation on how to fix it?
I am running unstable.
