Hi, I have a laptop which, depending on the work required
that day, will need to either be debian or windows (as some contracts require
me to be using msaccess 2003 and msde). I have a few options as to how I can reach this end,
but here I’m specifically after advice on one idea. The idea that I can
boot off an alternate device (cd,disk, usbkey, small partion on hdisk) and
execute a tool that will transfer my partition to my server, then download and
install an alternate one. I thought dd may simply do the job of backingup/restoring
the partition, but as I understand it the disk would need to be repartioned first
each time (as dd would only take contents of partion, not the partition itself.
This will do at a pinch, but I’m wondering if there are any tools out
there specifically for the job. Thx Glenn |
