For Debian, OpenS/WAN is the replacement for FreeS/WAN.

See the ipsec.conf man page - it explains the configuration parameters and
gives examples. There is also HTML documentation
in /usr/share/doc/openswan.

If you still have problems, you'll need to explain what you are trying to do
and what's happening instead as specifically as possible, and post your
configuration file.
