That worked .. but i am a bit confused as in every howto i found i
said devfs=nomount has to be used .. even in the readme of  mdz
(maintainer of debian-uml-packages and creator of the woody-root_fs)

btw. I still cant get rootstrap to work .. even if i don´t need it
anymore it would still be interesting whats the problem here - if
anyone knows anything about my problem with rootstrap (see op) i´d
appreciate any hint ;-)
