some missing files when installing libxml2-dev pkg

Hi,
  I tried to install GNOME xml library on my Debian
Linux PC but found that I did not have all the header
files in /usr/include/libxml/libxml2/. For example
xmlwriter.h and xmlreader.h were missing (perhaps a
few other files were missing too). Can someone tell me
if there are more steps I need to do to complete the
libxml2 pkg installation?

   Here's the steps I did.

   1. apt-get install  libxml2 (this did not do
anything since my system already latest libxml2)

   2. apt-get install libxml2-dev (this created the
libxml2/libxml folder under /usr and added a bunch of 

header files. But not all expected files were added!


   Any pointers/suggestions highly appreciated.

BTW, here's the version info:
command used: /usr/bin/xml2-config --version
result      : 2.4.19
