I'm attempting to use the 70M netinstall to get debian installed on a
friends new AMD Athlon XP 2200, with 128M of memory. On board via-rhine
nic.
Using knoppix to verify the hardware, everything worked (specifically
the nic), yet when I am asked to edit the /etc/apt/sources.list,
everything seems normal. I edit it to reflect my sources.list.
Once I get everything ready to connect to my LAN & wireless internet
connection, it fails. This message scrolls along the screen;
NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0 transmit timed out
eth0: Transmit timed out, status 003, PHY status 786d, resetting
eth0: Setting full-duplex based on MII #1 link partner capability
of 45e1
I'm doing pretty much the same I have for a number other installs, and
this has me stumped.
The cabling and the switch work, knoppix gets through to the internet.
The same modules appear to be loaded.
Thanks
