You do NOT need the scsi emulation with the 2.6.x series kernels for cdrw or dvd drives. Just another thought, try adding yourself to the disk (or is it disks) group once. Also, try su'ing to root and try xine once.. if the dvd part works, then it's a permissions problem. Dana
