Ok, will do, I always figured that hotplug, is only responsable for USB devices and not hardware detection.
my system seems to have a /etc/hotplug/blacklist.d/alsa_base file which lists all the oss drivers to keep them from loading. maybe you can install the alsa-base package and get your system to use alsa (and oss emulation) only.
I have alsa-base installed, but will check the blacklist directory and disable discover, if hotplug now does hardware detection.
