It is not only you that has seen this. I have held off updating samba for
precisely this reason. I am not relying on it, so to me it is not a big
problem. I do however use cupsys and am waiting for that to install
cleanly.
Once I realised about 110MB of stuff would be removed, I decided it was
better to wait than to upgrade the packages.
