Don't know what they're like now because I long ago took the decision
to have nothing further to do with them :)
I think I heard at one stage that they were owned by Amazon, of 'one
click' patent fame.
I buy my books elsewhere too.
I like to support small, local business.
I refuse to have credit cards (if it wasn't for them, we would still
have a banking service in rural Australia), and the local book shop has
imported books for me regularly. It's important to cultivate a global
community, but while you're doing that, you don't have to destroy your
own backyard.
