Have you looked at the bug reports?
For Mozilla, I see 26 listed:

~ 26
My problem was described well in #213004: Mozilla runs away with CPU
usage and freezes when trying to print.
My solution was switching browsers to mozilla-firefox which prints to
files and to the CUPS printer.
Other solutions have been described on list; check the archives.
