In mine, that's commented out/unused. The equivalent line is also
commented out in ~/.gnupg/options

Well, this mail was sent signed and mutt validated the signature
correctly. BTW, the key ID I saw was F8A48DF1
Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
