You upgraded from woody to sid, and now your DHCP is broken.
Do you know which DHCP client you're using? There are several: pump,
dhcp-client, dhcp3-client, dhcpcd. Whichever client you're using, it
changed its startup script in some way that broke your network
initialization. Either that, or you installed a firewall that's blocking
the DHCP discovery packets.
