but, beyond what particular application i am using ... whether wget 
or lynx ... there has to be a way to pass terminal row and column 
information  to a process ... how else does it know how to display 
information properly? my fundamental question is how can i call a 
process, any process, and pass the xterm row/column information to 
it as a script spawned by a cron job?
