Re: X Windows System will not start

I have gathered some additional information. The following is the output of
lspci:
File: lspci-out
00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.: Unknown device 3189
00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.: Unknown device b168
00:0b.0 Communication controller: Intel Corp.: Unknown device 1040
00:10.0 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. UHCI USB (rev 80)
00:10.1 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. UHCI USB (rev 80)
00:10.2 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. UHCI USB (rev 80)
00:10.3 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc.: Unknown device 3104 (rev 82)
00:11.0 ISA bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.: Unknown device 3177
00:11.1 IDE interface: VIA Technologies, Inc. Bus Master IDE (rev 06)
00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. AC97 Audio
Controller (rev 50)
00:13.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139 (rev
10)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation: Unknown device 0171
(rev a3)
It appears from 01.00.0 that there is a valid controller perhaps not the
best one but it should do something.

Output of lsmod:

I dont pretend to understand this but these are the modules installed.
Question is are they the correct modules?
I am still working on the rest of the last post. Dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xfree86 will not run it says that XFree86-Config-4 is not installed
and quits the program. I also ran dselect and selected the configure option
and tryed again. Same output as before. Hope this helps.
