SOLVED Re: A novice having trouble with X window on install

# apt-get install kernel-headers-2.4.18-bf2.4

# sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run --kernel-include-path /usr/src

(or whatever version of kernel and AGP card you are using)
