Maybe. I recieve fake C-R spam as often as I come across a real C-R
message (and I've encountered neither since I stared saving everything
in March), and get hundreds of emails a day from a wide variety of
people. 50/50 is not good odds when there's a possibility that it's
going back to a spammer.
