Re: Gimp Print Problem

No progress but I'm learning new things. Installed debsums and checked
all the programs - all OK. /etc/printcap.cups doesn't look like much,
just

# This file was automatically generated by cupsd(1m) from the
# /etc/cups/printers.conf file. All changes to this file
# will be lost.
ep:
lp:

where ep and lp are the printer names I used when installing the printer
from localhost:631. The installations are identical. I used the name
lp early on after I accidently erased lp in the kde control center print
manager generic unix print system. Later I learned how to install cups
in kde and thought ep a better name than lp. Both use CUPS+GIMP-print
v4.2.2-pre2 and will print a test page from kde.

I tried cupsd from the command line. The result was

ttyS1: LSR safety check engaged!
cupsd: Child exited with status 98!

This LSR safety check engaged message has come up occasionally before.
I dont know what it is. Could it be causing the problem? If so, how do
I get rid of it.
