Net install via PCMCIA

Hi, I am trying to do a Debian install on an old laptop. I bought a set of CDs, only to find they are CD-R's, not CD-ROMs, and my old CD drive doesn't read these...

So I want to try a network install (current stable version, over the internet via my router) with my PCMCIA network card (an Etherfast 10/100) but I can't figure out how this is supposed to work. After booting with the boot and root floppies, I get to the "configure PCMCIA" point in the installation, and it says there's an error. Looking in /var/log/messages, it says it can't find /target/lib/modules/2.2.20/pcmcia/pcmcia_core.o. Sure enough, I have no /target/lib directory. How do I get the right files into the system?

I used the "vanilla" boot and root disks; but as far as I can see all the different versions are supposed to include PCMCIA support...?

Thanks for any help!

Chris
