The 'nv' driver that comes with X works great for me with my
almost-identical video card.  No acclerated 3d, but it's very stable,
which is a lot more than I can say for the non-free drivers.

What the OP needs to do is run 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86',
select the 'nv' driver and approriate monitor options, and then enjoy
that Debian magic.
