has info that might be helpful to you. It has links to Debian binaries. 
In such a case, just download the binary to your local drive, then run 
"dpkg -i name_of_unzipped-untarred_file.deb". If you're unsure how to do 
this, holler back to the list.

The page says it's for "Mars" chipsets, but doesn't say anything about 
"Mars-2". It also says it's definitely not for AMR modems, so unless you 
have an AMR, I'd try it.
