Definately in non-ultradma mode, mdma2 is ... 16mbyte/sec?

See the DMA mode it's using?  I'd take a look at your cabling and routing
thereof.  What kind of cable is connected to the drive?  Can you take
this hard drive and stick it in the other computer, and see how it
performs, using the cable that is in the other computer?
