I recall a couple of years ago hearing about loading new kernel without actually rebooting. But it was new then, and you actually did have to reboot, it just skipped the POST and what not.
Has anything been done in this area since then? I would like to keep my uptimes, but kernel upgrades are becoming very imminent.
