Hi

I am a bit of a newbie and thinking of trying Debian
(I've had a go with SuSE and Mandrake because of the rpm support)

Anyhow I'd like to feel I've more self-sufficiency so I'm learning by doing

So my system is a bit old for these days
Dell 333 MHz Pentium II
128 Mb RAM
6 GB disk
USB with 2 ports - SoundBlaster 64
                 - Ambit Cable Modem attached to ntl broadband (UK)

Does Debian support cable modems?
(I've been having trouble with loosing connection with Mandrake dhcpxd and dhcpcd
though I must admit I've not tried "pump". 
Been unable to figure out what I'm doing wrong
