Newbie needs help w/ printer install

Hi

I am getting these errors while trying to print...

bfurry@gauss:~$ lpr .xsession
Status Information:
 sending job 'bfurry@gauss+430' to lp@localhost
 connecting to 'localhost', attempt 1
 cannot open connection to localhost - No such file or directory
Make sure the remote host supports the LPD protocol
and accepts connections from this host and from non-privileged (>1023) ports

Not sure what is wrong..?

checkpc an d checkpc -f run clean(no output)

gauss:/home/bfurry# checkpc
gauss:/home/bfurry# checkpc -f

output of lsmod seems ok too ???
