Problems with dselect

I just installed Debian 3.0 CDs yesterday and everything went fine, until the third boot(when almost all packages where installed). I used the dselect program to install additional programs at that point. However, I am having trouble with the "[A]ccess" method. It shows a "*cdrom" with some other stuff, such as floppy, NFS, etc., but there is no multi_cd option whatsoever on there. From reading sources on the "installation howto", it recommends using that option to further install packages, because I believe the CDROM option is becoming deprecated. I've even tried to use the CDROM method, but every time I give it the exact urls, it goes back asking for the same thing, like "main/i-386", or "contrib/i-386", so I give it the exact parameters, but doesn't go through.

Also, a seperate question, but when I try to initialize startx, which I configured prior to this, it says that it comes up with a "screen error". It says that it is installed, but it's missing some things(can further exemplify).

Thanks for your time.
